Book 2 in the Fire on Ice series
BY BRENDA ROTHERT
Synopsis:
Two years ago, Jason and Kate Ryker were brought together by grief and bound to one another by love. Now married, they’re confronting their fears together.
But heartbreak finds them again, and the ties that bind Kate and Ryke are tested as she struggles against fear and sadness. As a grief counselor, Kate understands all too well the pain of her clients. And while her husband’s career as an NHL forward is at an all-time high, he’s coping with the frustration of feeling powerless as his wife's hopes slip away.
Kate’s unexpected journey sheds light on the fear that imprisons her, and reveals that she is the only one who can set herself free.

If you haven't read book one, you're missing out! Read it first!
This book picks up with their HEA from the first book.
Ryke and Kate are happily married - we get little flash backs of their really sweet wedding and a few other little fun moments -
but the book picks up when Kate finds out she's pregnant - She's a mixture of happy and terrified. But everything seems to be running smoothly so far -
Her life as a grief consular has helped her cope with the loss of her baby when she was pregnant before - but that doesn't mean she's not afraid of it happening again.
Things are going well - until Kate's worse nightmare comes true.
Ryke doesn't know how to deal with Kate's pain. The baby didn't seem real to him yet, but Kate's pain was real, and it hurt him. Being on the road with the team and away from Kate was hard enough. But when the other wives started talking about Kate's mishap, she decided it was easier to stay home. Which Ryke didn't like at all.
Stress started wearing out on the couple and within reason, Kate started pulling back.
This couple is one of my favorites. I really love how they faught their way through the grief and pain. They were able to struggle through everything more than once and were able to come out on top - the ending of this book will have you singing AWE in so many places. You'll just want to eat these guys up.
I'm so happy I was able to read this series :)
Thank you Brenda Rothert for allowing me to read these for my honest review - they were totally worth it :)
