Joe so isn’t going to the library. He needs space from Amy, too, so he’s decided to rush a fraternity, to get back the swagger he had in high school. But it doesn’t take long for the brothers to invite him to the real rush here the beer is flowing and one particular girl has set her eyes on Joe.

Over the course of one wild night, both Amy and Joe will have to decide if their futures belong with two new people, or whether the next forever will have their first loves in it.

Jen's Review

Didn't realize this was book 2 of this series - it mentions the arrest in this one, but no details - book one is the story of that arrest :)

Cute short story - I was expecting longer, but it was cute anyways .

Joe and Amy have been friends forever - growing up across the street made things easy. But they weren't always the same people they are now.

Amy has a bad girl vibe inside her. After she was arrested, she gave up her old life. And Joe became her new life.

Now they are in college together, Amy is starting to get bored with the oh so wonderful life she and Joe have. And when Joe drops the bomb and asks her to move in with him, she almost panics.

Joe knows there is something wrong with Amy. They've known each other for so long, he knows everything about her.

He's afraid he's going to lose her, especially now that he wants to venture out and join a frat. A frat she totally disproves of.

Joe asks Amy to go to the library with him while he studies...
On a Friday night?? Yeah, He knew Amy would tell him she'd rather not.
They'll hook up later that night and all will be well.

Except instead of going to the library, Joe sneaks off to the Frat house to start his Rush week..

Of course Amy didn't want to go to the library, but she didn't want to sit in her room either. On her way back to her Dorm, she ran into Trevor. The bad boy that caught Amy's eye. He reminded her of her past, the fun she use to have.

When he offers to take her to a party, she didn't tell him no....

Joe and Amy face many challenges that night - testing their relationship and feelings towards each other.
What they discover, is beyond what either of them ever though would happen :)

See- like I said, Cute story :)

Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2) by Katie McGarry

Dare You To by Katie McGarry
Our Ratings : 5 of 5 stars

Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2)
 "I dare you..."

If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....

Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.

But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....

A few  "Awe" moments

“I like you. I. Like. You. I'll admit you're annoying. Sometimes you agitate me to the brink of insanity, but you can throw it back at me like no one else. When you laugh, I want to laugh. When you smile, I want to smile. Hell, I want to be the one to make you smile.”

“I won't let you go." I blink. As if he could stop me. "You won't let me go." "No, I won't let you go. You're mine and I don't lose.”

“It's our rain, Beth.”

“I’M BUYING YOU A COAT.”
And I meant it. I opened the car door and slung my leather jacket around her shoulders.
“It’s February. Why don’t you ever have a damn jacket on?” Echo slid her arms through my coat, closing her eyes as she inhaled. When she finaly opened them, she fluttered her eyelashes, giving me a look of pure seduction. “Maybe I like wearing yours instead.”
I swalowed. I had plans, and those plans did not involve kissing her against my car. Dammit, she was going to kill me.
“Congratulations, it’s yours.”

Juls Review

I have to say I was way disappointed when I found out that Beth doesn’t end up with Isaiah. Yes their relationship was messed up but they made it work, right?

I was way wrong about them making it work. Beth needed something stable. The shit this girl has gone through in her life, she didn’t need the drugs or instability. She needed someone to ground her.

Someone like the straight laced Ryan. But he’s got skeletons in his closet too. His life isn’t as perfect as everyone see it. His parents may seem like the perfect couple but they fight all the time and his brother is no longer acceptable to be home. Life is falling apart as Ryan knows it. But this goth chick, this girl who he would never have thought would be a part of his life becomes his constant. Beth makes his chaos at home disappear when she’s around.

They may think they are wrong for each other but they are what each need to survive.

Loved this story about Ryan and Beth. Their relationship may have started under false pretense but what blossomed was something no one can ever really describe into words what may be one of the most beautiful love stories.

Jen's Review

Well I really did think Beth and Isiah were good together, but when you bring in Ryan .. wow!

I thought it would have been different though. When I thought of beth in Pushing the Limits, I thought she was a badass biker chick type girl.

But once you get to know her, you realize she really isn't all that badass at all. She just hides her softer side.

When Beth takes the fall for her mom and lands herself in jail, the only person left to bail her out is her Uncle Scott.
When Scott finds out that Beth needs help, he's going to do whatever he can to get her out of her mother's hooks.

Beth isn't happy about being blackmailed into going to live with Scott. She missed him, though. But he left her to live her life in the hell that she lived in while he went off to be something. She resented him.

He still had his hooks in her though, so she agreed to go to school and be an upstanding citizen.

Scott introduces Beth to Ryan. Ryan and Beth met once before, in fact, just a few days ago, when Ryan hit on her and tried to score her phone number for a dare.
Ryan's instant attraction to the stubborn beauty shocked him almost as much as it shocked everyone else when they saw Beth.
But he liked how she talked. She said whatever was on her mind. Nothing about her was fake.

But Beth wasn't going to fall for it. She had experience from the popular jocks trying to get into her pants, then treat her like crap before. She knew it was the only thing Ryan wanted.

When Beth found out that Ryan was going to be practicing in town as her mother, she decided to use it to her advantage.
But it backfired on her, and Ryan was pissed. But since he helped her, she had to help him.

One more dare ... well not really because she dared him a few other times in the book - like that last kiss?!?! HOT! lol

It was a fun story to read. I enjoyed Beth's story - I can't wait for Isaiah's story, because I really feel bad for thinking that Beth was better off with Ryan wile Isiah was lost in the shuffle.  So I'm hoping they'll be able to work things out in the next book when Isiah finds his TRUE LOVE :)

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry

Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1)

No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.

Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.

Jen's Review

That was a very emotional book - something I"ve been reading a lot of lately it seems.

Echo's life is not normal. At one time it was though. She had friends, a good boyfriend, and a family that meant the world to her.

Then all of a sudden, her brother died, her mother went off her medication and something happened, leaving huge scars on Eco's arms, and her soul.
Whatever happened with her mom, she doesn't remember. Her therapists had tried to force her mind to remember, but all that did was her waking up in the hospital 2 days later. Her mind didn't want to deal, and everyone thought it was best that no one tells her anything until her mind is ready to except it. But she was tired of not knowing. The nightmares. She just wanted it all to end.

Noah use to have it all. The basketball team, the girls, the friends, a family who loved him. Then one day, his parents were gone. His brothers were swept off to a different foster home while Noah was stuck getting lost in the system.
His grades went down, he lost his friends, and his only goal in life was to get his brother's back.

But everyone was convinced Noah wasn't fit for visitations. And that hurt.

Mrs. Collin's - what a great lady - the new school social worker. She's the new trial and error to see if they can mix school and personal therapy, and family therapy all in one.

She became good friends with Noah, she could see him struggling with everything. Wanting nothing but to see his brothers. When she dangled the one little thing over his head, he couldn't help but agree to anything she had to offer.

When Echo visited with her dad and step mom, Mrs. Collin's knew that she wasn't being truthful. She knew that Echo was struggling more than she let on.
So when the opportunity presented itself, she was able to get Echo and after school job.

Noah and Echo were brought together . Noah to get his act back together. Echo to earn a little extra money. But their personalities clashed. And when Echo was chasing after Noah, she slipped on some ice and he caught her, by the arm. And he saw the scars one her arm.

Echo knew he must think what everyone else thought about her. So she ran off. But Noah didn't know what to think about the scars, But he realized that there was more to Echo than anyone else knew.

Really a cute story about two troubled teens that got lost somewhere along their way, but together they were able to experience happiness and try to find stability in their lives.

I'm really excited to have received an ARC of Dare you to! I really liked Beth in the this book, so I'm anxious to read her story now :)

                                                     Juls Review

When you are in high school, things should be somewhat easy. The hardest thing should be your next test or who is gonna take you to homecoming. But for Echo and Noah that’s chump change for the horrible life they lead. One had her own mother trying to kill her yet she doesn’t have the memory of it and the other lost his whole family. His parents to a fire and his brothers to another family. They both just want their life back.

For these two kids life will never be the same. Echo finds her answers and is more distraught than ever before. Knowing certain things have been prevented yet they weren’t has left a bad taste in her mouth about both her parents. Now she has scars to remind her of that horrible day.

Noah wants to do right by his surviving family. His brothers are all he’s got left and his plan is to get custody of them when he is of legal age. But can he give them the life that their foster parents can? What is the right thing for him to do? Will his plans backfire?

Echo and Noah meet while passing from their counseling appointments and before long they find comfort in each other. When Noah reveals his plans for his brothers and their future together she again feels like second place. Echo makes the ultimate sacrifice and lets Noah go. She knows it no contest when it comes to who is first in line in Noah’s life.

Their battle to stay together and find happiness is hard for them both. They are trying to make adult decisions at such a young age. But they do and are able to move on from all the tragedy with their futures in mind.

I loved this story. Echo and Noah have to grow up fast but the journey they travel, rocky most times, makes them stronger and they fight for what they want.

Forever My Girl

I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.

I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.

And now I’m going back.

After ten years.

I hope I can explain that after all this time.

I still want her to be my forever girl

Too Stupid to Live by Anne Tenino

Too Stupid to Live (Romancelandia, #1)

Too Stupid to Live by Anne Tenino

It isn't true love until someone gets hurt.

Sam’s a new man. Yes, he’s still too tall, too skinny, too dorky, too gay, and has that unfortunate addiction to romance novels, but he’s wised up. His One True Love is certainly still out there, but he knows now that real life is nothing like fiction. He’s cultivated the necessary fortitude to say “no” to the next Mr. Wrong, no matter how hot, exciting, and/or erotic-novel-worthy he may be.

Until he meets Ian.

Ian’s a new man. He’s pain-free, has escaped the job he hated and the family who stifled him, and is now—possibly—ready to dip his toe into the sea of relationships. He’s going to be cautious, though, maybe start with someone who knows the score and isn’t looking for anything too complicated. Someone with experience and simple needs that largely revolve around the bedroom.

Until he meets Sam.

Sam’s convinced that Ian is no one’s Mr. Right. Ian’s sure that Sam isn’t his type. They can’t both be wrong . . . can they?

Excerpt found on Riptide Publishing's page
“Sam took a shortcut through a park located smack between the campus bookstore and his place, walking all over leaf-strewn grass he probably shouldn’t have, clutching the book he’d hidden under his plaid shirt-jacket. He just needed to get to his apartment before he saw someone he knew.

If he ran into someone he knew, they’d expect him to stop and talk, because that’s the kind of guy he was: the smiley, friendly, talky kind. Then, because he didn’t have his backpack—mental note, bring backpack next time—they’d want to know what he was clutching away so furtively, guiltily, under his jacket. And—in spite of aspiring to an MFA in writing—he could never seem to come up with a plausible lie in truly dire situations.

At which point he’d have to make a break for it. Dammit, he was wearing those cool lumberjack boots he’d bought the last time he’d visited Nik in Whitetail Rock, and—newsflash—they sucked for running.

They looked good with plaid shirt-jackets, though.

A shouted “Hey!” interrupted his riotous thoughts.

He knew, he just knew, they were shouting at him. And he had a romance novel hidden under his shirt. A romance novel with a lurid cover featuring a bare-chested, kilt-wearing man on horseback, clutching a saloon-girl-cum-fair-maiden to his brawny chest.

“Hey! Get the hell off the field!”

Crap. Sam ran, hunching to protect the book, stumbling in an ungainly sideways sort of run.

He looked back over his shoulder. A whole pack of brawny Highlanders was chasing him. Sure, they had jeans on, and only some of them were bare-chested, but they all had that meaner-than-hell-Scot look in their eyes. It wouldn’t have surprised Sam in the least if their knobby-yet-manly knees had been flashing under yards of plaid.

The leader of the clan made Robert the Bruce look like a little nellie boy. He was tall, thickly muscled, and light haired, with scruff Sam could see from ten yards away while running and looking backward over his shoulder. He had one of those brows that bordered on hairy Neanderthal, but somehow looked macho and sexy. His mouth was open, screaming some kind of battle cry, and he was gaining on Sam. Reaching out to grab him.

Sam slowed, considering the merits of letting the sexy Highlander catch him. Then his self-preservation instinct kicked in. He faced forward, clutched the book tighter, and put on some speed.

That was when some projectile clocked him in the back of the head. It nearly sent him into a somersault. His legs couldn’t keep up with the forward momentum of his upper body. His knees gave and he pitched forward, throwing out his hands to catch himself.

Which was, of course, when he lost his grip on the book and dropped it. Actually, it was more of a fling than a drop. Sam lay there, cheek on the cold, damp autumnal grass, front getting soaked with dew, stunned and blinking at his book a few feet in front of him.Verdant, his brain supplied. Your romance novel is lying in a verdant field of grass, longing for its reader. A weird-looking, snub-nosed white football wobbled its way into his field of vision and came to a rocking halt.

Knees dropped onto the grass next to his head, jolting him. Sam strained his eyeballs upward and saw the brawny, shirtless Highlander who’d been leading the pack panting and scowling down at him. His sexy faux-Highlander muscles were straining and his chest was rising and falling rapidly. He had a veritable forest of caramel chest hair.

He made the best living, breathing (panting) romance novel cover Sam had ever seen. Macho and manly and stern and, oh man. Sam sighed. Guys like this were never gay. They were always the ones chasing the homos.

At that point it occurred to him to wonder why they’d been chasing him. “What are you doing?” he gurgled. His sluggish brain suddenly started calling out the anxiety attack.

The guy panted a couple of breaths before growling, “Playing smear-the-queer. Waddaya think? We’re playing rugby!” He huffed derisively, then turned away. Sam saw him reach for the football, his hand hesitating over the book.

Oh, fuck my life. Sam scrunched his eyes shut. Other feet pounded up around him, and voices asked if he was all right and What the fuck? Sam held his breath, waiting for the shaming to begin.

When he felt something shoved roughly under his side, his eyes popped open, and he looked into the smiling, patronizing face of the Highlander. His fingers brushed against Sam’s ribcage as he pulled his hand away.

Sam smiled tentatively. The Highlander shook his head in disgust, except he was smiling, just a little. “You all right?” he asked.

“Uh. Yeah.” Sam stared dumbly. Was that a chorus of angels he heard? The sounds of the other players faded away as Sam met his Highlander’s mossy green eyes. He felt asomething lock into place inside his chest. Click.

Twue wuv.

It appeared to be a one-sided revelation.

His Highlander gazed back at him with some emotion in his eyes. It was . . . confusion. Confusion quickly becoming something more like condescension. He lifted his hand, still on his knees in the grass beside Sam, reaching for him as if in slow motion. Sam realized with horror that the Highlander was going to give him a conciliatory pat on the head and then stand up and walk away. Didn’t he feel the click, too? How completely unfair that Sam should know instantly that this man was his destiny, but his stupid Highlander had no clue.

Poor, naïve hero. He wouldn’t know what hit him when he finally fell in love. Sam almost felt sorry for him. Almost. It was hard to feel sorry for some bastard who was about to pat your head and dismiss you, soul mate or not.

“Ian!” One of his Highlander’s clan, um, teammates was suddenly standing there, shaking the Highlander’s shoulder.

Ian. His name is Ian. Sam sighed.

The Highlander—Ian—dropped his hand and looked away from Sam. “Yeah?”

“C’mon, man, you gonna play or what?”

Ian looked back at Sam for a second. “Yeah. Just give me a minute.” The guys on the team started to wander away while Ian reached again for Sam.

At first Sam thought he was going to get the head pat after all, but Ian held out his hand, palm up. As if he wanted Sam to take it.

Sam stared at the hand a second, then looked back up at Ian. He was an ideal romance novel hero, in Sam’s humble (yet well-read) opinion. All those muscles and that curly hair on his chest. Sprinkles of gold above his nipples, thicker on his massive, blocky pectorals. Who knew blocky was so hot? Guh. The hair, though. Sublime. Thinner on the sides but growing in toward his center, a line of it defining his sternum, swirling around his navel, arrowing toward his groin. Happy trails to you . . .

Ian snorted out a laugh, and Sam jerked his head off the ground. Ian was laughing at him, one side of his mouth curled up.

Oops. Sam might have let the ogling get out of control.

“You need help getting up, or what? C’mon, we wanna play.” In a lower voice, he added, “Put your eyes back in your head.”

Oh. Sam felt his face get hot as he reached out and took Ian’s hand. The way this was going, it would be his only chance to touch his Highlander. Ian pulled him up so fast, he went from prone to standing with no stops in between.

“Jeez, you’re strong.” And you, Sam, are a conversational reject.

Ian just snorted that laugh again and looked at him. Standing, they were about the same height. That was kind of unusual. It made Sam’s insides clench.

“You all right, kid?”

Kid? Oh! A pet name. “Um, yeah, think so.”

“Let me see your eyes,” he said, getting in Sam’s face. Sam swallowed and held his breath while Ian scrutinized him carefully for something. Studying his eyes. They were his best feature, which wasn’t saying much in his opinion. He’d never had someone pay quite this much attention to them, though. “Yeah,” Ian muttered. “Same size.”

“Uh . . .?”

“Your pupils. That ball hit you pretty hard. You might want to go to urgent care and get your head checked out, but you look all right to me.” Ian shrugged, then added, “Not that I’m a professional.”

“Oh.” Sparkling small talk, there. “Um, my name’s Sam.”

Ian looked smirky, but held out a hand for him to shake. “Ian.”

“Yeah, I caught that. Um, you know . . .” The blood started pounding in Sam’s ears. Was he really doing this? He pretty much had to; it was the job of any successful romance protagonist. Sam wanted to be a successful romance protagonist, especially in this particular plotline. “Why don’t you let me buy you a cup of coffee or something? Kind of a thank you.”

Saying thank you with coffee. All the best heroes did it.

Ian eyed Sam, suddenly cautious. “What makes you think I’d be into a date with a guy?”

The click. “Oh, uh . . . Straight guys don’t usually realize when I’m, you know, um . . . when I’m checking them out.” Sam waved at Ian’s naked, sculpted, hairy chest. Yum. “Or they get all, you know . . .ˮ Sam bared his teeth and faux-growled instead of continuing.

You are such a dork.

“True that.” Ian looked away from Sam, crossing his arms over his chest. Oooh, veiny forearms, and biceps like citrus fruits. Sam stared, and Ian finally said in a low voice, “Listen, kid, you’re not really my type. Sorry, but . . .” He shrugged.

Sam’s stomach bottomed out. He couldn’t quite meet Ian’s eyes. “Oh, that’s not—I mean, I didn’t figure I was, just . . . I really wanted to say thank you.” Jesus, getting shot down was excruciating. It had never happened to him before. Probably because he’d never asked anyone out before.

It was unlikely he would in the future, either, based on this experience.

“There, you said it. You’re welcome. Now go get checked out. And don’t forget your book.” Ian looked back down on the ground, where the impression of Sam was still fresh in the grass. His romance novel lay about where his heart had been.

Sam felt his face go redder. He bent over and snatched up the book, tucking it into his jacket. “Thanks,” he mumbled, not looking at Ian. Shot down and humiliated. Twice.

Ian laughed shortly. It wasn’t a mean laugh, exactly. Just a sardonic one. “You’re welcome. Go on, Sam.” My name, he said my name. “And stay off the field from now on, okay?”

Sam watched him walk off. He only meant it to be a glance, but Ian’s back was mesmerizing. Yeah, he was sexy, but his skin was a mass of shiny smooth splotches mixed in with swirling scar tissue below his shoulder blades, all the way down, disappearing into his jeans. Three or four different shades of pink and tan. Parallel to his spine just above the small of his back was an incision scar. Dark brown and graphic, maybe five inches long.

Oh! My Highlander’s been wounded. A scarred man, looking for the one person who can help his heart heal.

Sam caught himself before he clutched his chest from the angst of it all. He was a fool. A geeky, not-very-attractive fool. A too-tall twink of a fool who didn’t get the time of day from hot muscle bears. If he were cute and small and blond (as opposed to towering, underweight, and bland), maybe Ian would want to tie him up and have his way. But Sam wasn’t.

He looked down sadly at his book, then covered the heroine’s face and most of her cleavage with his thumb and gazed at the Highlander beside her. He seemed so two-dimensional.

Duh.

Just you and me, buddy. You’re all the Highlander I’m gonna get.

“Hey, kid!” someone shouted. “Get the hell off the field!”

Dammit....

Jen's Review

SO Cute! I can totally see the guy on the cover of this book as the geeky, dorky guy Sam from this story :)
Always with his head in the clouds -
OH and if you like Highlander romance novels - men in kilts... yeah, this one will really have you thinking of a new Role Play with your significant other :)

Loved it! Sam is a sweetheart, once you get past his too skinny and too tall looks, you'll see his over the top gay and lovable attitude. Once he loves he loves with his whole heart body and soul.

Sam had his heads in the clouds - or on his newest Highlander novel while he was cutting through a field - he got hit by the football and knocked down. His newest book went flying.

That's when Sam met Ian -

Now Ian is a different story. He lived most of his life in the closet. Sure he knew he preferred men , but with his father breathing down his neck, the Homophobic people from work, it was just easier to laugh and pretend he was looking for women. He even dated a few and tried to "make sure" But Ian knew living this life was a lie.

After his accident, he was finally healed up and ready to move on. He decided he was tired of living his life as a lie.

But when he saw that geeky guy laying on the ground, he knew he wasn't going to stoop down to that level. After all, Ian was a big guy, good looking and could have his pick at anyone. why would he settle for someone who looked like Sam??

Sam had never asked anyone out before, but when Ian shot him down - it hurt.

Moving on to Nic and Jurgen's "singles only gay house warming party" :)
Ian and Sam were thrown towards each other again. Only this time it was Nic, Sam's BFF who was trying to distract Ian from everyone BUT Sam -
Then Jurgen , Ian's cousin, also Nic's partner, was doing whatever he could to keep Ian and Sam from getting together. Even so much as letting Ian know that Sam was off limits.

Jurgen knew about Ian's past, and knew that Sam was looking for love, not a one night - But Ian couldn't help it. There was something ... just "cute" in the way Sam blushed every time they caught each other's eyes across the room.

With a little help, these two finally get together. Sam knows it's his heart on the line, and he knows that he will probably wake up alone, but there was something with Ian that all Romance novels talked about.. that spark :)

Love how Sam always referred to his Highlander books for comparison.

Ian was a great guy, he just had a hard time getting to where he needed to be.
The romance was great, the chemistry between these two was hot and the story was all around a fun book to read :)

It's so nice to see a woman taking charge for once. Everyone says this is a man's world, but we all know a woman can do anything she sets her mind to.

Heather isn't really a strong willed woman though. She actually is very shy and insecure in her life. She is tired of being a lone and waiting for things to happen.
So when her BFF invites her along for a little speed dating, she is right there.
When Heather's friend notices her Nerves are shot, she tells her to relax. Step out of her skin for a bit and have some fun.

Heather didn't know what to make of that, but when the time came and Tony showed up at her table, she decided it was time to give her alter ego a little room to work ..

Tony - He's a great guy, Always ahead of the game and in charge of the big things. He knows what he wants and how to get it. Unfortunately the stress comes with the job. Everyone is always asking him for this, interrupting him for that, he never has any time for himself, and all he wants is to give up control for a little bit.

Tony goes to the speed dating place because of his friend Marcus. When he gets to Heather's table, he notices she's pretty, but that's about as far as he got before his phone rang. Embarrassed, he answered the phone. The stressful conversation telling people he's not working right now throws his mood off.
When he hangs up, he apologies to Heather and lets her know that sometimes he just wants someone else to take control.

So why was he so surprised when his phone rang again, and Heather, this meek woman who no one would really notice before, COMMANDS him to turn off the phone.
But Tony smiled and did as he was told. Wondering where this was going, he turned his attention to her.

When she told him to follow her out, she turned and left. Not looking back, but expecting him to follow anyways.

This was the woman Tony needed in his life.

Heather knew this other personality was fake, she didn't know how long she could keep his interest without making her look stupid. But she's read enough romance books to keep it up for a little while.

They have fun - Their relationship takes off quickly and even though Heather doesn't really know what she's doing, Tony doesn't seem to care. They are both excited about their new arrangement.

Things are going well, until Tony realizes who Heather is, where she works and how his company is going to screw hers over.

Will this new relationship that finally makes Tony happy come to an end when Heather learns the truth?

Has Heather finally found someone to share her life with, even though he only wants to be with her because he thinks she can keep him in line??

Great story - loved the romance building in this relationship :)

Release Me by J. Kenner

Release Me (Stark Trilogy, #1)
Release Me by J. Kenner

For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You comes an erotic, emotionally charged romance between a powerful man who’s never heard “no” and a fiery woman who says “yes” on her own terms.

He was the one man I couldn’t avoid. And the one man I couldn’t resist.

Damien Stark could have his way with any woman. He was sexy, confident, and commanding: Anything he wanted, he got. And what he wanted was me.

Our attraction was unmistakable, almost beyond control, but as much as I ached to be his, I feared the pressures of his demands. Submitting to Damien meant I had to bare the darkest truth about my past—and risk breaking us apart.

But Damien was haunted, too. And as our passion came to obsess us both, his secrets threatened to destroy him—and us—forever.

Release Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Jen's Review

Well if you read the blurb thinking this is like fifty shades, you'll be disappointed. The blurb actually says for fans that like those books ... still not sure why , the only similarity they had was the billizianaire alpha male who thinks he can have whatever he wants no matter the cost.

And Nikki's price was one million dollars . Damien could have anyone he wants, but when they met years ago briefly at a beauty pageant, Damien saw something in that sad girl that called to him.
He watched her over the years, trying to make her life easier without her knowing.

And when the time was right, they met at an art gallery.
Nikki is new in town. Finally breaking ties with her awful mother, she is finally where she wants to be. Starting a new job, and living with her best friend.

At the gallery, she is there with her new boss to try to get new clients interested. But their main focus is the famous Damien Stark - to try to get a meeting scheduled with him.

When Damien and Nikki's eyes meet from across the room the pull is so strong everyone notices.
When the meeting is set, Nikki's boss lets her know they need to get back to the office to prepare. but Damien isn't going to have that.
He offers to drive Nikki back, he needs her opinion on the paintings, because he is looking for the perfect painting for his new house...

Only he doesn't let her know he already knows what he wants painted....

The sex scenes were typical of this genre; some role-playing, a few toys, phone sex, call me sir stuff  “Possess. Have. Hold. Enjoy. Control. Dominate. Pick your verb, Ms. Fairchild. I intend to explore so very many of them.”-Damien

So yeah - that was the story - Damien is hot - I love that sexy CEO rich guy with a troubled past. Throw in an insecure but strong independent woman who secretly craves his attention - and you're ready to start this journey.
The book doesn't leave you with a huge cliffhanger, but it sets it up nicely for the next book Claim Me that will be coming out in July 2013 - Followed by Complete me in December 2013 :)
