Made from Greater Stone by R.J. Simpkin GIVEAWAY!

Made from Greater Stone (Stone Series #1)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Made from Greater Stone by RJ Simpkin is the first novel in the Stone Series. A story of passion, romance, glamour, and secrecy.

When graduate Olivia Bennett moves to Chicago she is thrust into a world sugar coated in feathers and crystals. This world is the world of Burlesque. It's during this time of discovery that she meets Nathan Stone, a handsome successful entrepreneur.

She finds herself drawn to him, in way she has never felt before. Convinced he is out of her league she tries to forget him. However Nathan has ideas of his own planned for the Burlesque starlet.

Olivia soon learns that her new life is not all rhinestones and sparkle. Nathan has skeletons in his closet; a dark past that threatens any future they may have together

About RJ Simpkin

I love to Imagine...

I spent a great deal of time as a youngster with my head in a book: from Nancy Drew to Enid Blyton’s Secret Seven; I love that imagination knows no boundaries when it comes to fiction!   You can travel the universe, solve a crime and fall in love all whilst curled up at home safely on your sofa.

My love affair with books continued and I later studied English literature leaving Manchester Metropolitan University in 2002 with a BA Hons Degree in English and Sociology.

I am so grateful to have met so many wonderful friends along the way; each being a tad eccentric, hugely creative , very talented and equally as obsessive about the art of Burlesque as I am.  Burlesque is gloriously consuming.

I decided to combine my love of books and burlesque and write Made from Greater Stone in 2012 I initially released the draft version on to Wattpad and have been overwhelmed by the response;  and through a great deal of encouragement from my readers have decided to take the leap and publish.

I live in Staffordshire, England with my fiancĂ© Lee and our two Siamese Cats.  We are due to be married in Autumn 2013; so as you can imagine I have a busy year ahead!

Your comments really inspire me I would love to hear what you think about my stories.  All my details can be found on the contact page.

Love and Peace

Jen's Review -

I received this ARC for an honest review :)

Ok the main thing stopping this from being a 5 star review - is because I hate cliffhangers - I really wasn't thinking that at the end . I saw this was book #1 - but I thought book #2 would just continue their story like so many others - but ARGH! I wanted my HEA!! They'll get it though. I have confidence in this series, and I could see there is another story to Nathan's last words, and THATS how the next book will give them their HEA :) Feb 2014 *sigh*

ugh! Olivia - aka Honey just moved to Chicago to start her new life. She just finished collage learning to be a physiotherapist, but finding a job in her profession is hard.
But she loves what she does - she's a Burlesque dancer :) And she loves the art of the dance she does. She knows it's not forever, but for now, she'll keep dancing.

And she is looking forward to her new job.

Olivia is shy and unsure of herself - but Honey is strong willed a loves to tease! She's sexy and confident and the preferred personality - but Olivia is Olivia and Honey is a performer.

The book starts off with her and her BFF Joseph - now roommate is just getting ready to leave the country for his job. She will be alone in the new town, but she knows she will be throwing herself into her dancing that she wont mind.

Her first day of rehearsal she meets Mitzi and Scarlet at a coffee shop. She falls in love with them immediately.
They let her know that they are going out to Club Noir that night and beg Honey to join them.
Since she's new in town, she goes.

They decide to go for drinks before dancing, and that's where Honey meets him. The tall, gorgeous arrogant jackass - Nathan Stone.

Thoughts of him enter her mind, but quickly fade as the rude man leaves her standing at the bar.
When the girls head over to Club Noir, they are invited by old friends up to the VIP area.

Honey is nervous, especially when she see's who they're all sitting with.

Nathan Stone is a great guy - but he's had to make his name and money the hard way - being the most sexy billionaire isn't all it's cracked up to be (HA! Right!?!?) but Nathan isn't happy with his life.

When he see's Honey, he can't understand the feelings he gets around her. But he wants to go with it. He's afraid of not being with her, just as much as he's afraid to be with her.

There are a couple times in this story where we get a small glimpse inside Nathan's head - where we can see his genuine feelings for Honey and how worried he is about her wanting to be with him.

All and all it's really a great story that grabs you from the beginning and just keeps going. I really love the whole Burlesque and decade dressing up and all that - it's really fun to picture her next outfit choice and see how they interact with everything :)
