Not sure how to word this review .. lol this book touched so many topics - 

Sloan - she loves her brother and would do anything for him. Even staying in a relationship she didn't want, just to keep her brother safe and happy - 

Carter - Sweet guy, trying to do the right thing - we learn early on why he's really there, but to keep up the charade between himself and the real himself gets harder and harder - making things worse for both him and Sloan.... 

Asa - Kind of feel sorry for the poor bastard - lol He's a hot-headed ..... jerk - but it's not really his fault. His dad implanted it in his head how to view women. Showing him at a young age to deal with tears and liars and whores - because all women are whores......

Asa felt those teachings down to his bone, but he knew Sloan wasn't a whore - he was the only man she'd been with and only would be with. So his dad had to be wrong about some things. Right? 

The story is easy to read - it pulls you in and makes it hard to stop reading. 
Something new happens around every chapter and you just can't help but fall in love with these guys.
