Reflected in You by Sylvia Day

Reflected in You (Crossfire, #2)Reflected in You by Sylvia Day
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don't know why I request to read ARC's - it only leaves me hanging for over another year before the next book comes out ... Hopefully Ms. Day will realize that we just can't wait that long for another Gideon book :D

Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession..

Juls Review

The highly anticipated story of Gideon and Eva was not exactly what I'd hoped for.  Don't get me wrong, I loved it.  All of it!  But I almost felt cheated.   I had thought since the first book was about Eva and her traumatic past Ms. Day would bring light to Gideon's past.  We see some but only a small glimpse of it.  I understand we still have book 3 to resolve everything but like I said I was excepting some resolution now rather than later.

The story starts off after the dreaded day when Eva met Gideon's ex-fiance.
Eva has run off thinking that Gideon wants nothing to do with her and wants his ex back.  She's of course wrong, again.

Gideon comes after Eva yet again to swift her off her feet.  She won't be rid of him so easily.  He has to have her.  He wants her with everything he is and his need for her borders on stalkerish behavior.  He wants what's his.  Eva is that and with every passing day his lust for her grows with more intensity than he ever imagined.  But something from Eva's past lurks in the shadows and it takes more patience than Gideon has to keep her safe.  Will he succeed or will it be the end for their relationship?

Eva knows something is not right with Gideon.  He's distant and the few times he's had something happened that needed an explanation he doesnt divulge any information which leads to assumption of the worst kind.  She wants to be in it 100% but doesn't know if her heart can take any betrayals.  Can she blindly trust the man she loves or will she call the whole thing off?

Their relationship is so new and so fragile.  The smallest chink ruffles feathers and causes earthquakes.  Right now the only thing these two have going is their sexual attraction that can't be extinguished.  I hope they both find peace so they can both rest easy.

Jen's Review

This book took on a more serious note then the last book. Gideon has his secrets, and he still has his moods, his Dominance is still there, and his love for Eva is beyond words.

The book starts off the day after the last book finished. Eva is broken about her fight with Cary, and Gideon isn't happy that Eva wants to put off a whole weekend to spend time with Cary. But if it makes Eva happy, Gideon will do it.

Gideon grew up a lot in the book - well at least the first half. He was showing his softer side. The side that wants Eva to be happy, because a happy Eva is a Happy Gideon.

But Eva still wants to be her own self. She wants to do what she usually does in life, instead of having to check everything off her list to make sure it's what Gideon wants as well. But bringing up such topics, only stirs up problems.

Eva promised she wouldn't run, but how does she deal with someone who is always trying to control her, without giving her a little of himself in the process.

When Eva's ex comes back in the picture, Gideon starts to understand the jealousy that Eva is dealing with... but it doesn't change anything.....

Obstacles occur,  and the trust and the communication is lost.. what is love without trust and communication. Is love really enough to keep these two together?? Sure they have the physical  love down, and they both know their feelings run beyond skin deep, but is that enough when Gideon wont meet her feelings halfway. When he's doing things that he knows will deliberately push her away??

Yes I cried - it was sad, but when everything was pieced together at the end, I kind of wanted to throw my kindle at the wall and scream in frustration. It doesn't give you a big cliffhanger, but it leaves you feeling the story isn't finished yet, and knowing that, I'm more than convinced about a 3rd book - with this obstacle closing, what will happen next? These guys have been through so much in the short period that they've been together.

But I'm really looking forward to the next book :D
