For Everly by Raine Thomas

For Everly

**Mature Content Warning** This is a New Adult novel recommended for ages 17+ due to language, sexual content, and mature subject matter.

Determined to overcome a dark and tragic past, college student Everly Wallace is only months away from earning her degree in physical therapy. She’s consumed with school, caring for her ailing grandfather, and figuring out how to pay the next bill. The last thing she wants is a relationship, but it just might be the one thing she needs.

Major League pitcher Cole Parker hasn’t fought for anything in his life. He went from a privileged upbringing to a multimillion dollar All-Star career. But when his pitching shoulder starts to give him trouble at only twenty-four years old, he faces the possibility of his injury becoming public knowledge and costing him everything.

In a desperate bid to save his career, Cole decides to hire someone to treat his injury, someone who will keep things off the record and out of the media. He finds the perfect solution in Everly. As mysterious as she is beautiful, she provides an enticing distraction from his pain. Soon, physical therapy is the last thing on his mind.

When an act of betrayal brings the truths they both fear to light, Cole will have to fight for the first time in his life…not just for his career, but for Everly’s love.

About this author
Raine Thomas is the award-winning author of a bestselling series of YA fantasy/romance novels about the Estilorian plane. Her upcoming release, FOR EVERLY, is a New Adult Contemporary Romance. Raine became truly passionate about writing when one of her stories took an Honorable Mention in a fourth-grade writing competition (who would have thought a story about a dancing spider would garner so much attention?). Carrying that passion with her, she earned her bachelor’s degree in English with a focus in Creative Writing from Georgia State University, then her master’s degree in Humanities from Central Michigan University.

Residing in Orlando, Florida, Raine is a hopeless romantic with a background in the fields of mental health and wedding planning…two areas that intersect far more than one would think. Her years working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges inspired her to create young protagonists who overcome their own conflicts. She’s a proud member of Romance Writers of America and a contributing blogger to The Writer’s Voice. When she isn’t writing or glued to e-mail or social networking sites, Raine can usually be found vacationing with her husband and daughter on one of Florida’s beautiful beaches or crossing the border to visit with her Canadian friends and relatives.

Totally a cute story! I enjoyed reading this one

Everyly is a smart woman, learning early in her years about needing to grow up. She accomplished so much out of her short life that she's close to having the degree she's always wanted.

She works hard, she plays less and she spends her spare time taking care of her grandfather, and volunteering in physical therapy to help gain extra credits for her future.

And she's surprised when she see's Wyatt, her good friend and mentor hanging out in the restaurant she worked in. It wasn't Wyatt she was surprised to see, but who he was sitting with - The one guy she's fantasized over for many years, Cole Parker! The head Picture of Atlanta baseball team!

Cole is a great guy, he's got his head in the game and wants his future to be secured. But when he starts feeling the pressure and pains from pitching, he doesn't know what to do. He's afraid of being drafted to a different team. His family is here and he would do anything to keep himself on this team for another year.
In order to do that, he needs help with his shoulder. He goes to his big brother Wyatt for help. Wyatt is in a hard position. Wanting to help his brother out, but needing to look after his career, and the career of his friends.

He realizes that Everly is so far advanced in her studies, she would be the perfect person to discretely help Cole with his physical therapy.

Everly owes a lot of Wyatt, but admits she has a little more selfish reasons for agreeing to work with Cole Parker. Not only does she have that huge crush on him, but he's offering her enough money to keep her and her grandfather secure for a long time.

Everly is a quiet person. she doesn't share things with people at all. So when Cole starts to get a few heads up on some of her past issues, Cole in his drunken spur screws things up between the two.
Once he sees the error in his ways, he knows he's in deeper with Everly than he thought was possible. And he needs to beg for her to come back to help him..

Really a cute story - not much with baseball, other than his arm going out from pitching, but you can see their love for the game. And their relationship growing stronger :)
