Bunny and the bear by Eve Langlais

Bunny and the Bear (Furry United Coalition, #1)Bunny and the Bear
by Eve Langlais
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Eve Langlais did it again! I love this book! It had a great story to it! And a LOT of romance!

Bears and bunnies aren’t supposed to mix, or that’s what Chase keeps telling himself when his bouncy new neighbor won’t stay out of his business—and his mind. However, the more he gets to know his overly perky neighbor, the more he craves her—naked in his grasp—a desire worse than his addiction to honey and pie.

Miranda’s on a mission for the Furry United Coalition, and it involves secretly guarding one grumpy ol’ bear. Staying focused on the job isn’t easy when all she can think about is turning his frown upside down, a task made harder when she gets a glimpse of his passion. When she hears about his theory on woodland creatures and predators not mixing, she thinks all is lost, but she didn’t count on a bear’s curious nature—and possessive need.

When an evil force abducts Chase, Miranda unleashes her bunny in order to save him, but the revelation of her shifter side puts her in danger. Is one ornery bear enough to save her from a mad scientist? And if he does, can a bear forget her woodland creature status long enough to love her and make her his mate?

Warning: Pies were harmed in the making of this story and naughty references made about honey that might offend some readers

I love the nick-names they have for each other.

The book starts off with Chase (our Great big ol Grumpy Bear) trying to leave for work - the only problem is on his way down to the elevator, his path is blocked by the most perfect bottom he has ever seen. He hadn't seen anything else yet, but this was at the right height, the right size, the right angle, and barely even covered - just begging him to grab. but instead he clears his throat and asks her to move.

Miranda bounces up in front of him and smiles her biggest smile and says hello to her newest neighbor.Since she just moved in, she hadn't been able to meet him yet, but she was happy she did. Their morning began with grumpy ol' bears need to be on his way (his erection wasn't helping things either, after all, he must really need to get laid if even small, woodland creatures are turning him on.) and it made her bunny want to do crazy things to see if she could get him to crack a smile. She found him intriguing. and made her very curious.

We learn that Miranda is an agent for FUC (furry United Coalition) To Serve, protect, and keep the humans in the dark. That was their motto - and as an Agent of the FUC - she needed to keep shifters safe,. From Guarding them, to keeping humans from investigating them. Challenging jobs, but she enjoyed it - And right now, her job was to make sure The Grumpy, yet handsome bear was safe.

Miranda had a few ideas on how to do that, yet she kept feeling herself drawn to him, more then she should considering she was trying to keep him safe, but he kept distracting her to the point she couldn't even remember her own name. How could she notice someone sneaking up on them in the heat of their passion kisses?

And oh what a kiss it was :) This story does have the typical "mating" pull toward it,but both Chase and Miranda seem to not understand the intent of it - But the more they hold off, the stronger the attraction is.

There is a physio out there kidnapping big huge alpha type males, and no one knows who, or why - but Miranda is determined to do her job and make sure Chase is safe... that is until he goes missing ....

This story is really great. The big ol' bear is an old fashioned about his women, and he comes from a long line of pure bread bears, so to stray from his own species really terrifies him.

But once he learns to except this hyper, bouncing ball of energy into his dull and lonely life (which is how he likes it) he transfers himself into something no one recognizes... a great big ol' softy teddy bear :)
