Shadows by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Shadows (Lux, #0.5)Shadows by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Awesome Young Adult PNR  read!

The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. As a Luxen, an alien life form on Earth, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane.

Dangerous. Tempting. Undeniable.

Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in.

Captivated. Lured. Loved.

Dawson is keeping a secret that will change her existence...and put her life in jeopardy. But even he can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself

What the Hell kind of an ending is that?!?!? Seriously???
WOW !

I should have stopped reading sooner, I loved this book. Spent all day reading it, but that ending just.. NOT FAIR!!!

ok trying to backtrack here.. The book starts off with Bethany starting at a new school. Just moved out in Virginia to help her parents with her sick uncle.

When she first walks in the classroom, everything stops for Dawson. His eyes only see her. He tries to ignore his Pain in the ass brother Daemon who is confused by Dawson's interest in this human.

It wasn't uncommon for them to hook up with humans, but feelings never got in the way like this before.

Bethany didn't know what to think of the hottest guy in the school paying attention to her. But there was something that drew her to him that she couldn't explain.

After a few nights of talking on the phone, and a couple dates, Bethany invites him over to her house to meet her parents. Alone in her room, things start to get a little hot. their first kiss (Wow!!)

And Dawson was effected by it more than he could ever imagine. He lost control of his human body and went into his natural form! Holy Crap!! When Bethany saw him in his true form, she didn't know what to think. She didn't believe he was real.

But once Bethany got a hold of her own thoughts and was able to process who or what Dawson was, she excepted him..

Dawson was beyond floored when Bethany didn't run out of the room screaming.

The only problem was, her after glow. Seeing him in his true form gave her a glow, even faint, but his brother and sister were sure to see it..

Going home, facing his siblings, he knew things were about to get rough. There was no way Daemon was going to except himself exposing their true identities to a human...

LOVED this book! I can't believe it! I've never been a big fan of Aliens, they usually seemed so ... fake to me. But the way they were in this book was far from "fake" They seemed so real and down to earth (ha)

Anyways. I loved getting to know Dawson.. I'm still pretty cheesed off about the ending though - but glad I waited to read this book until after book two came out...

Off to read it now :)

Jul's Review

Dawson such a sweet boy, i mean Alien.
He and Bethany canNOT be dead. they just cant. I knew from Obsidian that they had died but I just dont want to believe it.

The A clan with the exception of Adam were so horrible to Bethany. She was nothing but sweet but the Aliens think humans are nothing. They seem more like humans than they really think. I think Dawson could see that and accepted the love he had for Bethany.

I also now understand Daemon and crude ways. He lost his brother because of a human and now has vowed to never let one get in the way of his family.

Great great series! Cant wait for Onyx!!!
