Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines
Life outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. Besides there was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…
Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.
What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.
The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…
Jen's Review
I know I say this just about every time, but I really think this is my favorite couple out of all of Abbi's books :)
Woods is the biggest sweetheat - you get to know and love him in the first two books of this series, but you don't really KNOW him until he falls in love.
Woods life is complicated. He's his father's puppet. In order to move forward with the Country Club , he has to marry Angelina - but why would he want to marry someone he doesn't love? Because Woods grew up only knowing and wanting the things that were supposed to be his. But his father dangled it in front of him with the threat of taking it away if he didn't marry Angelina.
Out of the blue one day Woods stops for Gas and comes across this really sweet beauty who doesn't know how to pump gas.... LOVED this first meeting!
Della is one messed up person. The things she had to go through when she was so young just makes me want to cry for her.
Mental Illness runs in her family. Her grandmother, her mother, and now her. She feels normal most of the time, but she has triggers that cause her anxiety attacks not to mention the dreams she wakes from every night.
She doesn't want to be this way, but she has excepted her future. She knows she can't rely on anyone else either.
When her Best friend Braden runs off for her honeymoon, she gives Della her car and told her to go find out who she is..
Della took off - but she had never had to pump gas before. She's only been driving a short time.
That's where she meets Woods.
Woods takes her out for a quick meal, then brings her back to her hotel for the night.
A One night stand is about all he could afford. He knew he had to ask Angelina to marry him. But he needed to get a few things out of his system first.
4 months later, Della is in a new town, Dallas. She is so sweet and trusting. Wanting nothing more than the love she missed out on when she was younger, she falls for her boss. Only he's married. With a baby on the way. Della gets furious!
Tripp - I LOVED Tripp! I want a book about him (lets all ask Abbi really nicely if she can give us his story. He didn't want to be alone anymore!)
Tripp was a friend of Della's who worked in the bar with her. He didn't know she was bound for a heartbreak so soon, but there is something about Della that just screams PROTECT ME!
Tripp offered her his condo in his home town. Said his cousin Jace (WE LOVE YOU JACE!) would talk to the boss and help her get a job at the Club and she could stay there for as long as she needs to get away.
When she enters the little town of Rosmary again, she is shocked by the coincidence.
Once she is settled in, she goes to the club to talk to the boss about a new job. Not knowing it's Woods, she was thrown back when he ran into her.
Woods couldn't believe his luck - he had been thinking about her for months! He knew he should let her work somewhere else. He wanted to be selfish and keep her close, but he had to marry Angeline and Della was a big problem....
REALLY Loved this story. Della has a lot of problems. Mentally she really needs help.
There was a good ending, but still those little words at the end that ticked me off "Look for part two of their story in the fall of 2013"
It was unfinished - there is so much MORE that needs to be dealt with, so I'm happy to know there will be another book coming out ... wish it was sooner rather than later :)
