I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to
Tara for adding Up All Night Reviews to the list of acknowledgments at the front of the
book. I totally squeed out loud when I saw it. You rock!!!!
Carter, Claire and Gavin have formed the perfect little family. Their friends are getting married and everyone is growing up, maturing and ready to face the future. Or are they?
From bachelorette party hell, porn addictions, dinner roll baseball and botched wedding proposals to finding out everyone's extended family is chock full of crazy, Carter and Claire begin to question the strength of the ties that bind them. Unfortunately, these ties have nothing to do with fuzzy handcuffs and everything to do with the mounting differences between them.
Will their friends make a mess of things with their inappropriate comments and need to know everything, or will they convince the couple that happily-ever-after sometimes really can start with beer pong?
Juls Review
In the second and final installment of Chocolate Lovers, which I’m hoping it isn’t even though the author wrapped things up pretty nicely in the end. :(
This is my go to books for the best laughs ever! I’m really not okay with this Tara. I think there's a story for Drew and Jenny and what about Gavin? He definitely needs a story and Sophia? You know that girls gonna cause a ruckus! So there's some ideas for ya! ;)
Claire has her hands full. Along with her business she is juggling a son, a boyfriend, and a bff who she will soon lose to that evil thing called marriage.
Claire’s never had the prettiest picture of marriage. Her parents have 5 of them between the two and the last thing Claire wants is to join their failing ranks. She’s always steered clear of it and says so every chance she gets that marriage is NOT for her!
Carter has other plans. His many attempts are epic fails when she shuns the ideas before they become reality. He really has the best intentions even though one of his attempts is at a novelty store. Liz comes to the rescue and they plot the perfect plan.
I really want to see more of Claire and Carter and the gang because where would my life be without the insanity? This group of characters are snarky and quirky and are the most hilarious people I would love to know personally. Especially Drew and Gavin. Those damn t-shirt they wear gets me every time!
One of the funniest scenes was Claire was meeting the in laws. The way she met them is probably the best way you could ever make a lasting impression! One of the funniest things was the way Claire reacted to Carter’s grandma. OMG that was just LOL funny!
And thank you for speaking truth Tara. It was maybe one of the most important things in your book. Thank you for pointing out that we all have thoughts of killing our significant other. The snoring has driven me to madness too!
From start to finish you not only cry from laughter but you are sucked into the characters and their lives. You want to be friends and hope they are real so you can hang out with them.
Great great read! I highly recommend this to EVERYONE!!!
OH! VAGINA! ;P
Jen's Review
There is so much to say about this book I don't even know where to begin!
Seductions and Snacks was nothing that I was expecting when I first heard about it. After reading it, I was convinced Clair was my twin. Not because I talk like her, lol but just about everything that she said was something I had thought about at one time or another in my life... I just didn't have the words to describe it like that.
This book was just as much fun. I read it on Sunday when I took my family fishing. I found my secluded spot under at tree away from my kids and husband, but after that first paragraph, I knew it was only a matter of time before my 4 and 5 year old started circling me trying to figure out what had me laughing so hard.
Everything just fit - from Carter's snoring (which in turn is really my snoring, and yes, I have woken myself up occasionally from being so loud but I do laugh at my husband when he tries to complain about it) to the Stepford mom's (because I have a neighbor that really does tattle on my kids for saying Crap - and I just want to laugh in her face because she has no idea how long it too me to get him to say Crap instead of *sh*t*)
I have to admit that I wish life would be this easy and fun always. But from this story, even though that can flip off the world and be just who they are, they all have their own problems as well.
Between Carter's flop at proposing, and Clair's sudden reality that she WANTS him to propose, the lack of communication in the serious issues does cause problems.
Sad to say this sounds like the ending to this couple though. I seriously hope Tara Sivec decides to continue with this group of friends.. I'd love to see Drew and Jenny head over to Las Vegas and meet up with Elvis - I'm not sure who cracks me up more between these two. Jenny's definition of words, or Drew drawing out each definition.
But I would seriously love to read more with this group :)
