Undeniably Yours by Shannon Stacy

Undeniably Yours (Kowalski Family, #2)Undeniably Yours by Shannon Stacey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a great story!
I haven't read the first book, but this one was great the way it was :D

One-night stand + two percent condom failure rate = happily ever after?

Bar owner Kevin Kowalski is used to women throwing their phone numbers at him, but lately he’s more interested in finding a woman to settle down with. A woman like Beth Hansen. If only their first meeting hadn’t gone so badly...
Beth’s tending bar at a wedding when she comes face-to-face with a tuxedo-clad man she never thought she’d see again. She tries to keep her distance from Kevin but, by last call, she can’t say no to his too-blue eyes or the invitation back to his room. Then she slips out before breakfast without leaving a note and, despite their precautions, pregnant.
Kevin quickly warms to the idea of being a dad and to seeing where things go with Beth. After all, he’s not the player she thinks he is. But she’s not ready for a relationship and, given his reputation, it’s going to take a lot to convince her to go on a second date with the father of her child...

What a great story!
I haven't read the first book, but this one was great the way it was :D

I was a little frustrated though with Beth - it's one thing to be a strong independent woman, but it's another to completely turn your back on everyone else who's trying to help :)

She did this over and over again - yes it was frustrating - but I think that's what made the story so nice.
Growing up she needed to stop being so hovered over - being the only surviving child out of 5 pregnancies, her parents tended to take caution over her - a little too much.
That's why she left - and became a Nomad - roaming from city to city, staying only long enough to work and afford to move to another city - only buying what she needed and living for herself.

Kevin was tired of the way things were going in his life. owning hiw own bar, living on his own - having drop dead gorgeous women giving him a napkin with their lipstick smeared on it along with their phone numbers.. He was tired of that life. the type of women who was willing to spend one night with a guy they didn't know just because he filled out his shirt well - or so he was told- and who owned the bar, weren't the kind of women he wanted to have breakfast with the next morning.

So when he saw the pretty brunette sitting at the end of the bar with another man , one who was defiantly making a fool of himself by throwing out signals the pretty woman was politely dodging, he couldn't seem to take his eyes off of her.
And when he decided the man had enough to drink, and the man wasn't all too pleased to be embarrassed in front of this pretty lady. Kevin did what he could to keep the situation under control, but the drunken idiot tried to hit Kevin - even in a sloppy drunken way, Kevin didn't like to be hit - especially in his own bar. Struggling to keep the drunk on hand, he "accidently" knocked the guys head into the bar breaking his nose.. honestly it was an accident.
So when the cops arrived and taking the burden away, the drunken man yelled back to Beth - "you're fired"

Great now Beth didn't have a job, she was use to her bosses advances and was taking care of everything until the bartender had to interfere. Sure he was good looking - ok more then that, but still - She was a little more then peeved

So she left... Not that Kevin could stop thinking about her, but she walked out and wouldn't give him her number. So what was he suppose to do?

When his Brother Joe's wedding day arrived, and Kevin was the only one of his brothers that was dateless, he tried everything to keep his mood happy. But once he got a good look at the pretty brunette bartender working at his brother's wedding - he didn't have to pretend much longer.

Of all the weddings she had to work at .. Beth wasn't too happy to have to put up with Kevin's constant barter for her phone number, but what else could she do.. it was her job to keep a smile on her face.
She was so happy when the last person left and she was able to clock out. but instead of calling for a cab, she wanted to walk out and enjoy the beautiful night of the most gorgeous reception area she had ever seen.

That's where she ran into Kevin.. after a slight dance, he convinced her to stay with him..
it was a magical night for both of them..
When she woke up in the morning, she was planning on going down to the lobby and grabbing some donuts and coming back to the room, but when she heard the barely awake slur of "Don't forget to lock the door on your way out" she knew she would never see Kevin again...

3 weeks later she found herself at the drug store doing everything she could to avoid buying a pregnancy test.. She didn't want to admit it to herself that the possibility was there. Condoms were only 98% effective.

When she walked into the bar and asked Kevin to speak with her privately, they went up to his apartment on the 3rd floor.
After she told him about the baby, both of their lives flipped and turned upside down.

Loved this story - everything seemed so real and so scary for these two - but I also loved the 2nd love story with this one. Paulie - The assistant manager, and Kevin's best friend - as well as Beth's new best friend...

The story seemed to flow nicely. I really enjoyed it :)

Kevin sure has a way with Chocolate :)

"We talked about this over and over and-"
"It's time for pie."
He had to be joking."You're going to eat again? And stop trying to change the subject. You're not getting-"
"Chocolate cream pie. Homemade, even the whipped cream."
"I'm not going to let you distract me."
"Six. Inches. Deep "
Well, hell. She supposed she could tolerate the sexiest man in the world touching her in exchange for a slab of homemade chocolate cream pie
